Newly elected New York City Mayor Eric Adams has a pro-crypto stance that appears to be showing early signs of adoption within the upper echelons of NYC government. And soon it’s community-led crypto project is planning to create a dedicated city-based token redeemable anywhere in city limits.
After Adams engaged in a friendly online banter with Miami Mayor Francis Suarez over Bitcoin, CityCoins, which functions on the Stacks protocol, decided to develop the NYC cryptocurrency token including taking paychecks in the largest cryptocurrency by market value. Adams has vowed to build a crypto-friendly city when he takes office in January, and today that reality may just come underway.
